Chunky Cable Wrap Pattern

I posted a while ago about my chunky weight project and here it is! This scarf/wrap is a quick and beautiful project knit up in chunky (bulky) weight yarn, and accented with two simple three strand cable braids.

 Cable knit wrap pattern

Materials:

5 skeins Brown Sheep Company Burly Spun Wool - 8oz 132 yards each

Stitch Markers (Optional for marking cable sections)

Size 11 24" or larger circular needles 

Gauge - 9 stitches 16 rows = 4"x4" 

Abbreviations:

YFS1K - with yarn in front, slip 1 knitwise 
YBS1P - with yarn in back, slip 1 purlwise 
C6F - slip 3 stitches purlwise onto your cable needle, hold in front of your work, knit 3 stitches your from left needle then knit the three from your cable needle. 
C6B - slip 3 stitches purlwise onto your cable needle, hold to the back of your work, knit 3 stitches from your left needle, knit three from your cable needle

Pattern:

CO 69 (I prefer the long tail CO method) 

Set up row 1 as follows if you want stitch markers for the cable sections. 

YBS1P, k1, p2, k11, pm, p3, k9, p3, pm, k9, pm, p3, k9, p3, pm, k11, p2, k2. Proceed to row 2. 

Row 1: YBS1P, k1, p2, k11, p3, k9, p3, k9, p3, k9, p3, k11, p2, k2.

Row 2 (and all even rows) YFS1K, p1, k2, p11, k3, p9, k3, p9, k3, p9, k3, p11, k2, p2.

Row 3: YBS1P, k1, p2, k11, p3, C6F, k3, p3, k9, p3, C6F, k3, p3, k11, p2, k2.

Row 5: YBS1P, k1, p2, k11, p3, k9, p3, k9, p3, k9, p3, k11, p2, k2.

Row 7: YBS1P, k1, p2, k11, p3, k3, C6B, p3, k9, p3, k3, C6B, p3, k11, p2, k2.

Repeat rows 1-8 until scarf measures desired length ending after row 1. Bind off, weave ends in, hand wash and block.
